A hairstyle is a way of arranging or fashioning the hair. It is usually done to enhance the beauty of the person and it can also reflect the personality of a person. People have many different styles of hairstyles and some of them are very popular.
Hairstyles are very important in one’s life as they not only improve the look of a person but also help in increasing the confidence level. One should always choose a hairstyle that matches well with the shape of his/her face and should also suit their lifestyle. Some of the most popular hairstyles include ponytails, bob cuts, fringes, bangs, layered pixie cuts and so on. Apart from these, there are some other types of hairstyles which can be tried out depending on the preference and requirement of a person.
This summer, opt for a low-key style that’s perfect for a hot day. “Bring out your curls with a topknot like Zendaya’s,” says Michael, who recommends using R+Co Ring Tone Ultra Defining Gel Creme and diffusing the strands to keep the volume popping.
If you’re not into a messy bun, try tucking your strands into a sleek, high ponytail for a more polished look. “Face-framing layers are the best way to add dimension and balance to any ’do, especially for shorter cuts,” says Jahanbigloo. If you have short strands, she suggests working the style with pomade for a more defined finish.
Another easy-breezy summer look is the slicked back ponytail, which works for all lengths. To achieve the look, divide your ponytail into two sections and secure each with a hair tie. “Then, pull the rest of your hair back and secure it with a second elastic band right at the base of your neck,” says Jahanbigloo. “For the final touch, use a little Bleu by R+Co Lifestyler Volume and Texture Spray ($53) to make your hair look airy and fresh.”
If your hair is naturally curly or has lots of texture, consider trying out mermaid waves this summer. “These are a more polished take on beachy texture, with more uniformity,” says Jahanbigloo. For a more controlled and defined finish, she suggests applying a styling cream or leave-in conditioner with a built-in heat protectant to the lengths of your strands before blow drying.
A pixie cut with face-framing layers is a great option for those who want to refresh their look for the season, says Jahanbigloo. “This feisty cut is especially flattering on curly or wavy hair because it allows the natural texture to shine,” she notes.
For those with a more conservative cut, try adding a touch of edginess to your strands by pulling the front pieces upward and outward for a blunt, face-framing fringe. This style can be worn casually or formally, and works for any length.
Lastly, a shaggy bob can be styled with a side-swept part or even into a mohawk for a bold and sexy look. “You can experiment with different color streaks and highlights to create a more personalized and unique bob,” suggests Jahanbigloo.
