Understanding Literature Styles
In literature, creative writing style is usually the mode of expression in literary language characteristic of a particular person, time, country, or genre. It has been called a style because it attempts to depict a certain way of presenting ideas and experiences to its readers. Creative writing is about expressing an inner thought or emotion. However, it also involves using literary devices such as similes, metaphors, and adverbs. The style of creative writing is influenced by the time period, culture, geographical location, and personality of the author.
There are various different styles in literature. However, they are distinguished from each other according to their conventions in word choice, rhythm, and structure. The conventions of one style differ from another style. In other words, one author’s style may be called varied by another author.
One of the most important aspects of writing style in literature is word choice. Different styles of writing have different word choices. For example, some authors may prefer to use active voice. When it comes to passive voice, on the other hand, it can be distinguished as weak or perfect. The conventions of the different styles in word choice differ as well.
The third literary style refers to the fashion world. Fashion is characterized by a particular way of dressing. The way one dresses has a strong impact on the way he/she thinks, i.e., his/her fashion world is determined by the status of the dress. It may be fashionable or not; it is the style of a writer reflecting his/her personality.
This style is closely related to the third style. When speaking of fashion, everyone loves to differentiate themselves from others, i.e., by showing off. Everyone has his/her own unique style in this area. Some individuals may like to show their unique style by wearing unusual clothes. Some others may like to stick to the expected fashion, which does not necessarily need to be unique. When it comes to style there is no right and wrong, everyone is free to choose.
Lastly, but certainly not least, we come to the last style, which is called, “My own style”. “My own style” is a general description for any type of style, which an individual feels happy with. In a situation where two people can be similar in many ways but the individual feels happy with his/her own style, he/she may identify himself/ herself as a style model. Modeling is based on the idea that a person should look beautiful on the outside while being healthy and attractive on the inside. When an individual identifies as a style model, it means he/ she models the clothes he/she likes and feels happy about.
